Festival Program & Venues
Relax as you eat, drink and enjoy the ambiance at your choice of 12 different venues throughout the Broke Fordwich region, all bringing their own particular flair to the Italian theme. Some venues also offer activities and some will be serving dinners through the festival weekend.
Visit and Taste wines Inspired by Passion from the largest organic vineyard in the Hunter Valley. Enjoy an early morning organic coffee and tea under the Silk Tree with CWA baked goods. Enjoy Chef inspired freshly prepared lunch including vegetarian three cheese arancini, bruschetta with feta,vegetarian and vegan, beef or vegetarian lasagna with salad, Italian sausage with peperonata on panini roll, River Flats hot olives and condiments, Paris Creek Organic Cheeses, Salted Caramel Panna Cotta with chocolate ganache gluten free, cannoli with honey and ricotta. Local fresh vegetable and fruit, plant and wood carving stalls and workshops, cultural tours and live music.
A weekend of Italian experiences. Gnocchi making classes, olive oil appreciation, cheese making with Guiseppe from Vannella cheese, lunch each day by Hunter Valley’s own Il Cacciatore restaurant, coffee, gelato and biscotti by Duccio, Saturday night dinner by Matteo of Tuscany Untouched Tours, market stalls, live music from The Caballeros and of course the wines of Catherine Vale including Italian varietals Barbera, Dolcetto and Arneis.
The Windrim family welcome you to bring a picnic rug or share one of our long luncheon tables in our beautiful cellar door courtyard and surrounding gardens. Described as “a little bit of Tuscany in the Hunter”, it’s the ideal spot to enjoy a glass of wine and wood fired oven pizzas, traditional homemade gnocchi, cheese platters, sweet crepes, coffee, cold drinks and sweets. Live music by La Tarantella Guitar Duo.
Family friendly, down to earth Pasquales@somerville offers something that’s “Not Quite Italian”- an Aussie take on traditional dishes. Expect Pasquale’s home-made sausage, vegan alternatives and wood fired pizza. Chill out drinking sangria, the Barbalance family wines, or locally roasted Suspension coffee served up with funky beats. For something different, join in a Burlesque dancing workshop 10:30am each day of the festival.
